NWPL gives back to the community

For many years Northwest Podiatric Laboratory has been focusing on helping people in the local community. Each year we have a Christmas raffle during our annual Christmas party. This includes donated items from employees and vendors that are raffled off. The money we raise helps individuals and families pay utility bills, rent, groceries, transportation needs, medical bills, and child care. Last year we were able to collect about $2,400 dollars with our raffle, which is matched by NW Podiatric to support local families and make their Christmas a happier time. We have been able to help 50 people/families this year!

We work very closely with the Opportunity Council which is a non-profit organization that relies on grants to assist their clients. We lend a hand when their clients are in need of things that aren’t covered by their grants. We’ve helped countless people get into transitional housing (veterans and domestic violence survivors). We’ve helped people get into public housing by paying their deposit or application fee. We’ve helped by paying for car repairs to get people to work/school, money for certifications and school courses (flagger, welders, home health, GED fees, etc.). We’ve helped people in severe financial distress with their critical medications they can’t afford and also groceries, utilities, clothes/diapers/supplies for their children. We work with Charter College as well and provide their students in need with gas money, bus passes, car repairs, and application fees for various tests/courses/certifications. We also support employees in need with groceries or supplies for their children and we sponsor three families at Christmas time, providing clothes and toys to make their Christmas brighter.

We are excited about helping many more families and individuals this holiday season.
